District 9AAA tournament -- First round games of the District 9AAA District volleyball Tournament will open Monday at Lebanon High School. Host Lebanon is the No. 5 seed and will play No. 4 seeded Beech in the opening match at 2:30 p.m. Top-seeded Mt. Juliet (14-0) will play No. 8 seed Gallatin at 4 p.m.No. 2 seeded Portland will take on No. 7 seeded Station Camp at 5:30 p.m. followed by No. 3 seed Wilson Central vs. No. 6 Hendersonville at 7 p.m. Semifinal play is set Tuesday at 5 and 6:30 p.m., followed by the finals Thursday, Oct. 11 at 6 p.m. FCS plays in Mid-Tenn Classic Pool matches are set for Friday at 3 (vs. Oakland) and 4 p.m. (vs. Sale Creek) followed by two more Saturday at 8 (vs. Germantown) and 10 a.m. (vs. Red Bank). The elimination phase of the tournament will get started at 12 Noon. Defending Division II-AA champion Ensworth as well as 2011 Class AA runner-up Goodpasture are playing in the tournament along with powerful St. Agnes of Memphis and Lone Oak High from Kentucky. FCS split a pair of matches Wednesday in Murfreesboro -- defeating Blackman 2-0, then losing to Siegel 2-0. Mt. Juliet sweeps Bison Halle Raines had 23 assists while Ryann Amity has 11 kills and two blocks. Portland 3, Wilson Central 0 Dariyan Stallings paced the Lady Wildcats with eight kills and 14 digs. Amy Trice had 21 assists and 13 digs. Oakland 3, Lebanon 1 On Tuesday, Lebanon dropped to 5-8 in District 9AAA following a 3-0 home loss to Beech. Game scores: 22-25, 24-26 and 19-25. Alex Britt paced the Devilettes with 11 kills, a dig and three blocks. Veronica White finished with five kills, five digs and a block while Kelsey Yarbrough had four kills and nine digs. Tatum Thompson passed out 15 assists, had a kill, served three aces and had 10 digs. Andi Carney had two kills and 12 digs. |
