Friendship sweeps 8A volleyball PDF Print E-mail

FCS HOSTS REGION TUESDAY
HARTSVILLE -- Friendship Christian School's volleyball team earned a Region 4A host berth Tuesday, Oct. 16 by winning the District 8A championship Tuesday at Trousdale County High.

FCS will host Clay County in a 4:30 p.m. contest, followed by Jackson County vs. Gordonsville in the other semifinal. The two winners will meet for the region title later Tuesday night.

The Lady Commanders, the defending Class 1A state champs, improved to 50-4 overall with a 3-0 sweep of Gordonsville in the finals.

Tournament MVP Kaitlyn Teeter led the FCS effort with 12 kills and three digs while Sarah hadd had 29 assists. Alex Sealy had 10 kills and five digs while Ali Burrough was in on eight kills and three digs.

Friendship reached the finals with a 3-0 victory over Trousdale County in the semifinals.

All-tournament, All-district
Joining Teeter on the all-tournament team were Sealy and Hall. Teeter was voted the district MVP. First team all-district selections were Burroughs, Sealy and Hall. Second team all-district included: Sam Finley and Morgan Imler.
