HOSTS SALE CREEK IN SECTIONAL
LEBANON -- Friendship Christian's volleyball team rolled to the Region 4A championship Tuesday with 3-0 wins over Clay County and Jackson County at the Bay Family Sportsplex.

FCS, the defending Class A state champs, blanked Clay Co. 25-11,25-11 and 25-10 in the semifinals before disposing of Jackson County 25-16, 25-11 and 25-14 in the finals.

Standing 52-4 overall, the Lady Commanders will host Sale Creek in a TSSAA Sectional match Thursday, Oct. 18 at 7 p.m. with the winner earning a berth in next week's state tournament in Murfreesboro.

Region MVP Kaitlyn Teeter dominated against Clay County, smashing 22 kills and recording six digs. Alex Sealy added eight kills and seven aces while Ali Burroughs had seven kills and seven aces. Sarah Hall had 29 assists.

The Jackson County finals match was much more of the same as Teeter had 21 kills, a pair of aces and seven digs. Burroughs had eight kills, Sealy seven and Hall had 30 assists.

Hall, Burrough and Sealy joined Teeter on the all-tournament team for Friendship Christian.
