MURFREESBORO -- After having been pushed to five games for one of the few times this season, Friendship Christian’s volleyball has reached the finals of the TSSAA Class 1A tournament. Now 56-4 overall, FCS knocked off Chattanooga Boyd-Buchanan 3-2 in the finals of the winners’ bracket Thursday afternoon at Blackman High. Game scores: 22-25, 25-16, 25-19, 18-25 and 15-11.

Senior outside hitter Katilyn Teeter paced the Lady Commanders with 23 kills, 27 digs, two blocks and three aces. Ali Burroughs added 16 digs, eight kills and four aces while Alex Sealy was in on 10 kills and four blocks. Sarah Hall handed out 41 assists in the five game match.

FCS 3, Concord 0
FCS defeated a youthful Concord Christian team from the outskirts of Knoxville 3-0 in the tournament second round Wednesday afternoon. Game scores: 25-22, 25-15 and 25-14.

FCS 3, Loretto 0
The Lady opened tournament play with a 3-0 win over Loretto in Wednesday’s tournament opener. Game scores: 25-3, 25-13 and 25-17.

"We started out really strong," said Friendship coach Randy Alley, "I wish we could do that every game. The (Loretto) kind of got settled down and I think we quit hitting. When we're hitting the ball -- it's fun. I'm really proud of 'em. That first match is always hard."
