WILDCATS HEAD TO KY SATURDAY
GLADEVILLE -- Wilson Central's basketball teams split a home doubleheader Thursday night with Antioch High -- the girls losing 51-46 and the boys taking a 66-54 win in the nightcap.

The Lady Wildcats (now 2-2) led 37-33 after three quarters, but saw Antioch pull away with an 18-9 edge in the fourth quarter. Rachel Bean had 21 for WCHS and Dominique St. Louis chipped in with 11 points. Wilson Central will entertain Knox Central in a girls-only contest Friday at 6 p.m.

IN THURSDAY'S NIGHTCAP

-- Coach Troy Bond's Wildcats upped their record to 3-0 on the season with a 66-54 victory over Antioch Thursday night. Jacob Williams led the way with 21 points, Blake Huffman added 14 and Ben Palmer 13.

ON SATURDAY -- Wilson Central boy’s team will play in the annual Marshall County Hoop Fest in Benton, Ky -- one of the most prestigious gatherings of basketball talent in the Southeastern United States. The Wildcats will play Saturday at 4:30 p.m. against host Marshall County High.

Andrew Wiggins, from Huntington (W.Va.) Prep, the nation’s No. 1 recruit for 2014 will be playing in the event as will a slew of Top 50 prospects.

“This will be a chance for our kids to see and compete against some of the best players in the nation,” Coach Bond said.

Wilson Central returns home Tuesday, Dec. 4 for a doubleheader vs. Cookeville.
