COOKEVILLE -- Sophomore Austin Taylor scored three touchdowns and the Friendship Christian defense turned in a stellar performance en route to a 44-7 win over Adamsville Saturday in the Class 2A BlueCross Bowl at Tucker Stadium. The win marked the second consecutive state title for the Commanders -- who wrapped up the season 14-1 overall. Offensive MVP Steven Hollis rushed for 161-yards on 27 carries and scored a TD while Taylor added 87 yards on just five carries, including a 55-yard gallop midway thugh the second quarter -- one of his three scored on the day. Defensive MVP Tanner Martin was in seven tackles, broke up a pass and recovered a fumble. Stefan Remus had eight stops, blocked a punt that set up a TD and kicked a 32-yard field goal in the closing seconds of the first half. All told, FCS finished with 18 first downs and 405 yards in total offense. Adamsville, making the first state finals appearance in school history, finished 13-2 overall.
