JONESBORO, Ark. -- Lebanon High graduate Icelyn Elie reached a milestone in her Middle Tennessee basketball career in Wednesday night's 72-70 victory at Arkansas State. Elie became the 28th Blue Raider to reach 1,000-points with a basket in the second half at 12:29. She finished the game with 16 points. She also grabbed five rebounds with two blocks and two steals. A senior at Middle Tennessee, Elie is a 2009 graduate of LHS where she played for former Devilette Coach Darian Brown -- who now serves as athletic director at Lebanon. In 2012, garnered All-Sun Belt Second Team honors and was named to the All-Sun Belt Tournament Team. The daughter of Mary and Lester Elie, Icelyn was also a track standout for Lebanon High, a state finalist in the pentathlon and earned a pair of top-10 finishes in the state long jump and triple jump competitions. She is majoring in exercise science. MT returns to action Saturday, Jan. 5 at South Alabama in Mobile. The next home game for the Blue Raiders is Wednesday, Jan. 9 vs. Florida Atlantic. Tip-off is set for 7 p.m. |
