MJ SWEEPS WILSON CENTRAL
MT. JULIET -- Post players Sally McCabe and Ronjanae DeGray made life miserable for Wilson Central Friday as Mt. Juliet pulled out a 57-49 win.

McCabe scored 23 points and DeGray added 19 as the Lady Bears upped their regular season record to 19-7 / 12-2 in District 9AAA.

Rachel Bean led WCHS with 13 points before leaving the game midway through the third period with a knee injury. Dominique St. Louis and Autumn Hopkins each had eight points.

Wilson Central finished the regular season 12-12 / 8-6 in the league.

Mt. Juliet will host national power Riverdale Monday at 6:30 p.m. Wilson Central is idle until the District 9AAA tournament opener Friday, Feb. 15.

MT. JULIET -- Coach Troy Allen's Golden Bears rolled to a fifth consecutive win Friday with a 57-46 victory over visitig Wilson Central. With the win, Mt. Juliet (15-10 / 9-4 district) clinched a second place seed in next week's District 9AAA tournament.

Bear soph Nolan Chowbay came off to knock down 7-of-9 at the free throw line and finished with 21 points. Hunter Gilbert added 10 points while John Mark Bell and Reagan Johnson each chipped in with eight points.

Jacob Williams led the Wildcats (19-8 / 9-5) with 14 points. Blake Huffman had 11 and Deante Miller finished with 10.

Mt. Juliet will close out the regular season at home Monday night vs. Riverdale. As the 9AAA two-seed, the Bears are set to host a first round tournament game Friday, Feb. 15 against Beech.

Central will host a first-round game Feb. 15 against Gallatin High.

NO. 4 PURPLE TIGERS POUND TCHS
WATERTOWN -- Jumping out to a 26-8 first quarter advantage, No. 4-ranked Watertown sped to a 72-45 Senior Night win over Trousdale County in Friday night's regular season finale.

Now 23-3 overall and a perfect 8-0 in District 8A, Watertown will host Pickett County Saturday afternoon in a make-up game.

The Tigers have earned a first-round bye in the 8A tournament and will play either Friendship Christian or Red Boiling Springs in a Feb. 15 semifinal game.

Macieo Gaines led Watertown with 17 points while Josiah Smith and Ty Jobe had 12 points apiece.

WATERTOWN -- Trousdale County outlasted Watertown's Tigerettes 72-67 in overtime Friday night.

WHS dropped to 12-15 overall / 2-6 in District 8A and will close out the regular season Saturday at home with a 3 p.m. game vs. Pickett County.

Alicia Jennings led Watertown with 21 points; Kristin Vantrease added 14 and Jasmine High had 10.

With the loss, WHS moves to a 6 p.m. district tournament elimination game Tuesday vs. Red Boling Springs at Trousdale County High.

FRIENDSHIP SWEEPS PICKETT CO.
LEBANON -- Friendship junior Deja Jones broke the 1,000-point career mark with 30 in Friday night's 59-42 win over Pickett County at the Bay Family Sportsplex.

Now 16-7 overall, the Lady Commanders will play in the District 8A semifinal Thursday at Trousdale County High against the Lady 'Jackets.

Kaitln Teeter finished with 13 points while Courtney Petty added eight.

LEBANON -- Friendship Christian rode a 29-point effort from Allen Heaston to down Pickett County 54-47 Friday at the Bay Family Sportsplex.

FCS closed the regular season 8-13 overall headed into a Tuesday elimination game in the District 8A tournament against Red Boiling Springs in Hartsville. The winner will take on regular season champ Watertown Friday, feb. 15 in the tournament semifinals.

Andrew Wood had 11 points and Zac Anderson finished with six.

LHS TAKES TWO FROM PANTHERS
LEBANON -- Julia Fox knocked down four 3-pointers and scored 14 points to lead Lebanon High to a 51-28 Senior Night victory over Portland at Campbell Brandon Gym.

The win lifted LHS to 14-12 overall / 9-5 in district 9AAA and sets up a first-round home game in the district tournament Friday, Feb. 15 against Hendersonville.

Abby Wright and Madison Sloan each had eight points against the Panthers while Bailey Sells added seven.

LEBANON -- Zimmer Hunn and DaShawn McMurray scored 12 points apiece to lead the Blue Devils to a 64-52 Senior Night win over Portland Friday night.

KeShawn Abston added 10 points as Lebanon improved to 10-16 on the season and 6-8 in District 9AAA. LHS looks to be the No. 5 seed in the district tournament and will play at Station Camp Friday, Feb. 15 in the first round.

KNOXVILLE -- Powerful Knox Webb hammered Mt. Juliet Christian 57-20 in Friday night's Division II, District 1A semifinal contest.

With the loss, MJCA fellto 11-14 overall, and moved to an 11 a.m. third place game vs. Donelson Christian today in Knoxville.

Lauren Wankel led the Lady Saints with 10 points while Lunnze Ethridge added eight.
