Here's a look at tonight's (Tuesday, Jan. 31) high school basketball schedule involving Wilson County teams. 6 p.m. Monterey at Watertown; Friendship Christian at Red Boiling Springs; Mt. Juliet Christian at Franklin Road Academy. 6:30 p.m. Gallatin at Wilson Central; Station Camp at Lebanon; Mt. Juliet at Beech. MJCA SWEEPS DCA -- Mt. Juliet Christian swept an East-Middle Division II doubleheader Friday, Jan. 27 from Donelson Christian Academy. The Lady Saints improved to 11-10 overall and 3-7 in the region with a 60-48 victory in the opener. Lynnze Ethridge led the way with 23 points. Allison Mahabir added 11 and Shelby Leech hit three 3-pointers to finish with nine points. THE NIGHTCAP found the Saints down 20-19 at intermission, only to pull ahead for a 47-42 victory. Trevor West lit it up from outside with five 3-pointers and finished with 15 points. Ben Wankel added 13 while Sam Mummert had eight and Jackson Harrell seven. MJ Christian improved to 13-7 on the season and 6-3 in the league. BOY's SCORES FROM FRIDAY NIGHT -- Lebanon (8-14 / 3-7) got 17 points from Cameron High, 11 from Cody Yarbrough and 10 from Shaq Cragwall. Mt. Juliet thumped Portland 71-35 as 13 players scored for the Golden Bears, led by 13 from DaShawn McMurry; 11 from Chandler Frazier and 10 from Caleb Frazier. No. 5-ranked Friendship Christian mauled Trousdale County 61-23 as 10 players broke into the scoring column. Dalton Patterson paced the attack with 16 points. GIRL'S ACTION FROM FRIDAY INCLUDED -- Sydney Vanlandingham led WC with 15 points and Taylor Peterson added 13 as the Lady Wildcats improved to 15-6 on the season / 7-3 in the league. Kelsey Yarbrough led LHS with 13 and Madison Sloan added nine. Mt. Juliet sprinted to a 27-8 lead and hammered Portland 72-26 Friday night. Caya Williams had 21, Sally McCabe 17, Jamasha Jackson 12 and Paige Braugher 11. Watertown dumped VanBuren County 52-36 in Spencer Friday night. The Tigerettes were led by Jordan Brewington with 17, Morgan Gartner with 14 and Hailey Speck with 12. Friendship Christian's Lady Commanders held off a furious Torusdale County comeback and managed a 51-47 victory over the Lady 'Jackets. Out for most of the season with a knee injury, senior Andi Morrisett made a dramatic return with four 3-pointers and finished with 19 points Deja Jones added 13. |
