MT. JULIET -- Beech got nearly 300 yards rushing from tailback Jalen Hurd and a tremendous fourth down stand from its defense to hold off Mt. Juliet 27-20 Friday night.

The Bucs (5-0, 3-0 District 9AAA) scored twice in the fourth quarter and came up with big plays when they needed them.

Hurd finished with two touchdown runs in the second half to go along with 299 yards on 37 carries. Dametris Watson scored Beech’s other TD, while kicker Christian Peek had field goals of 31 and 36 yards -- both in the first half.
