HARTSVILLE -- Pitchers Brennan Swindoll and Austin Godwin combined on a no-hitter Tuesday as Friendship Christian blanked Trousdale County High 3-0.

Swindoll struck out 12 with three walks. Godwin struck out two of the three batters he faced in the seventh.

Drew Erie and Stefan Remus each drove in a run as the Commanders improved to 12-1 on the season.

Boosters celebrate LHS basketball PDF Print E-mail

The Blue Devil Booster Club held its 2012 banquet Thursday, March 29 at Castle Heights Elementary honoring the Lebanon High basketball teams and cheerleaders.

Cheerleading awards went to the following: Heather Sanderfur, best sophomore; Cassidy Black, best junior; Elizabeth Durham, best senior; Courtney Williams, Coaches' Award and Maggie Sturm, most valuable.

Girls basketball awards went to: Kelsey Yarbrough, DAL & rebounds; Victoria Dye, team spirit; Madison Sloan, most improved; Julia Fox, offensive MVP and long distance award; Katie Blackburn, defensive MVP; McKenzie Lamberson, extra effort.

Boys basketball awards went to: Keshawn Abston, newcomer award; Jemel Officer, most improved; Zimmer Hunn, defensive award; Julian Cruthfield, hustle award; Cameron High, Most Valuable Player; Cody Yarbrough, True Blue Award.

Wilson Central 7, Lebanon 2
GLADEVILLE --
Wilson Central pounded out 13 hits and downed District 9AAA rival Lebanon 7-2 Tuesday.

Kaitlyn Clark went 4-for-4 and scored three runs to pace the Lady Wildcat attack. Central also received two hits apiece from Allie Bennett, Lauren Stavinoga, and Kendall Eden. Morgan Powell (12-4) scattered six hits,going the distance for the decision.

Central improved to 19-7 and 3-0 in district play heading into Thursday's match-up with rival Mt. Juliet. Lebanon dropped to 5-10-1 overall / 1-4 in 9AAA.

Bethany Anderson slugged a second-inning HR for LHS while Kaite Blackburn added two hits -- a single and a double. Lebanon is idle until a Monday, April 9 game at Friendship Christian.

FRIDAY NIGHT RESULTS --

Friendship Christian improves to 11-1 on the season following Friday's 10-0 home win over Class AAA White County High.

Lebanon goes on the road and falls 4-0 at Sycamore High, leaving the bases loaded twice. 

COMBINE FOR PERFECT GAME
LEBANON -- Pitchers Caleb Snider and Connor Gaines combined to throw a 5-inning perfect game Thurday as Friendship Christian rolled over District 8A rival Red Boiling Springs.

Snider (2-1) breezed through the first four innings with five strikeouts with Gaines pitching a 1-2-3 top of the fifth, striking out two of the three batters he faced.

The Commanders (10-1 / 3-0 in 8A) scorched the Bulldogs for 16 hits, including four by Drew Erie and three from Stefan Remus.

FCS is scheduled to host Class AAA White County High Friday at 7 p.m.

Trevecca signs MJCA's Mummert PDF Print E-mail

TWO-TIME, ALL-STATE SOCCER SELECTION
MT. JULIET -- Sam Mummert, Mt. Juliet Christian Academy's all-time leading scorer, signed an NCAA National Letter of Intent Wednesday morning with Trevecca Nazarene University.

The son of Bob and Lisa Mummert, Sam has scored 98 goals in his MJCA varsity career and has twice been named to the Tennessee Sports Writers Association Division II all-state team.

"Sam is all about his team," said his coach Matt Swallows, "this could't happen to a nicer, more deserving young man."

Trevecca, a longtime member of the NAIA, is making the move to NCAA Division II and will compete in the Great Midwest Athletic Conference beginning in the fall of 2012.
