With the heat index hovering around 100 degrees, everyone is looking for a way to cool off. We’ve been hitting the pool at Sports Village but with this heat sometimes even a pool offers little relief. You can escape the heat for a little while and enjoy super savings at Cox’s Gifts and Jewelry this week.

Everyone should see Mark Twain’s, The Adventures of Tom Sawyer, brought to life on stage. Beginning July 15, Encore Theatre Company will bring this classic tale about a young boy growing up in a small town along the Mississippi River to Wilson County. Shows run from July 15 to July 30. Showtimes on Thursday, Friday and Saturday are 7:30 p.m. Sunday shows begin at 2:30 p.m. For details or tickets visit Encore Theatre Company's website. http://www.encore-theatre-company.org/
Few will disagree that one of the best things about summer eating is the bounty of homegrown tomatoes you can find almost everywhere. That’s why Historic Lebanon Tomorrow decided to host an event dedicated to this culinary delight. ‘Tomato Fest’ comes to town on July 16 at the Lebanon Farmer’s Market. Visit historiclebanontomorrow.info for more information.
