Besides assisting Wilson County cancer patients with services like free housing, networking with other survivors and informational support, the American Cancer Society has funded more than $7 million in cancer research here in Middle Tennessee in the past year. That research is performed at facilities like Vanderbilt University Medical Center, which any Wilson County resident would be likely to visit during the process of cancer diagnosis or treatment.

Since its local inception in 1996, Relay For Life of Wilson County has raised about $1.5 million for the American Cancer Society. The worlds largest grassroots fundraising movement, Relay For Life helps support the American Cancer Societys mission to save lives by helping people stay well, by helping people get well, by finding cures and by fighting back.
