To the Editor:

We are very grateful for the many thoughts and prayers from the people of Lebanon, Wilson County, and the entire 15th Judicial District following our family’s loss. Your many thoughts and prayers were comforting to us in our time of extreme hardship. It is a wonderful feeling to know that when a family loses a loved one, we are able to lean on this community for support.

To doctors who routinely cared for J.O., and the nurses and administrative workers at University Medical Center…Thank you. When we arrived at the hospital, our mother was treated with open arms and open hearts. She was hugged and greeted by so many community members that it made us understand why UMC truly is “The care you need from the people you know.”

To the Wilson County EMS…Thank you. Your kindness and sympathy during transport from the home to UMC, and from UMC to Baptist Hospital, was appreciated during this stressful and difficult time. You have such a difficult job, but were able to take care of our father with great professionalism and kindness.

To everyone who emailed, called, text messaged, sent cards, brought food by the house, sent flowers, made charitable donations, or kept our family in your thoughts and prayers…Thank you.

Our family appreciates this community for everything you have done. While we will miss the man many of you knew as Judge and our family knew simply as Dad, we will all remember the commitment he had to this community and the legacy he has left to his wife, children, and grandchildren.
