To the Editor:
Many hours have been put into the Wilson County Archives to make it one of the best anywhere in the state. With all of the heavy record books and loose records to move during the last 10 years (11 in September), this has been a very hard job. But with the help of the Sheriff’s Department allowing the use of the inmates, this task has been a lot easier, even though there are many other jobs the Sheriff’s Department requires the inmates to do. The officers who bring the inmates have worked alongside the inmates to get the work done.
There is no way to thank these guys enough. This letter, along with other letters that have been put in the paper in the past, is to let them know how much they are appreciated. Thanks to Sheriff Terry Ashe, Chief Deputy Larry Bowman, Capt. Jason Gray, Capt. Clarence Hasting, Correction Officer Jerry Smith and Correction Officer William Perrin for the help during the past few months. I could not ask for any nicer guys than Correction Officer Smith and Correction Officer Perrin to work with. The inmates who came were very respectful and did a great job.
