Wilson Living Magazine is always on the hunt for our “Founders’ Favorites.” Luckily, there are so many talented people in the area that we never have a problem finding new and amazing products and businesses to feature each issue.
One of our Founders’ Favorites this next issue is the ART MILL. Located on Lebanon’s thriving square at 115 S. Cumberland Street, the Art Mill is the brainchild of local artist extraordinaire Scott Harris.
Many of you have seen Scott’s art work in specialty shops and have been amazed by his talent. Scott and his wife, Kirsten are Lebanon natives who were featured in a past issue of Wilson Living Magazine. And as you read in that issue, Scott has been hooked on art since his very first art class as a young boy at Cumberland University.
Finally, Scott has decided to share his talent with the masses!!
Looking for a way to explore your artistic side but don’t know where to start? Want a fun night out that is new and exciting? The Art Mill is just the place for both the artistic and not so artistic. The Art Mill is the perfect place for adults and children to learn the basics of painting while enjoying the company of friends.
Gather your friends or just come by yourself and join others each evening as Scott leads a class where the participants are taught step by step to paint a “painting of the night.” Simply go on-line to www.TheArtMillatLebanon.com and click on calendar. There you will see what painting will be featured each Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday evening.
Reserve your spot, bring your favorite beverage and then Scott and his team will do the rest. All supplies are provided and during the 2 to 3 hour class you will complete a painting that is yours to take home at the end of the night.
In addition, to signing up for classes, the Art Mill can be reserved for private parties where you and your friends can receive Scott’s undivided attention as you learn to paint a painting of your choice. The Art Mill is the perfect place for birthday parties, group outings, girls’ night out, bridal showers, corporate mixers and fundraisers.
For children, there are 2 hour art classes on Saturdays for ages 5 to 12 taught by Caroline Walker. Caroline holds degrees in Interior Design, Art and Art History and for over 6 years has been teaching art to children. Parents are not required to stay for the classes and the Art Mill provides all their supplies. Caroline will also be holding summer painting camps to keep the kids busy during their break. Your children will love experimenting with different paint techniques, brushes, colors and strokes and Caroline is natural with them. And of course, if you are looking for a fun way to celebrate your child’s birthday, a painting party is the best! All the kids leave with a creation of their very own.
