Many farmers and outdoor-related businesses suffered. Still the vast majority of people had an available supply of clean water to drink, or wash clothes, or even use for business.
Can you imagine what it would be like to have no clean source of water? What if you had to walk for miles, only to be able to get a jug of water that isn’t sanitary for humans to drink?
You are invited to attend "Thirsty Thursdays" in support of a ministry that has a mission: Water for Life. Maple Hill Sports Center is sponsoring a non-denominational fund raising effort to support the Life Outreach International Water for Life ministry. The ministry’s goal is to complete 200 new water wells across the continent of Africa and other nations this year.
Life Outreach officials report they have completed more than 1,000 new water wells in 25 different nations. These wells not only provide clean drinking water, they can change an entire village. With clean, disease-free water, they can also plant and irrigate crops, provide water for cattle, and use the water to make bricks and mortar for building homes.
Bring your family or group to play miniature golf on Thursday nights from now until Labor Day Weekend, and you will receive a free bottle of water and a Buy-one, Get-one Free Miniature Golf Coupon for your next visit. The goal is to raise $4,800 or more to fund construction of a well. One-half of all mini golf proceeds on Thirsty Thursdays will go to the Water for Life project. Donations may be made to: Life Outreach International. (Group discounts do not apply on Thursday nights so that proceeds will benefit Life Outreach. If available, church groups may use the party room for free. Call ahead to schedule.)
