Troy Hubert Lamberson, 79
"RED" DROVE THE PURPLE TIGERS
WATERTOWN -- Funeral services have been scheduled for 2 p.m. Wednesday, February 25 at the Watertown First Baptist Church for Mr. Lamberson, 79, of Watertown. Born in Smith County to the late Herbert and Elsie Taylor Lamberson, he died February 23, 2009 at his residence.
Known as "Red" to his family and friends, Mr. Lamberson was a farmer and for 34 years drove a bus for Wilson County Schools. During this time he transported Watertown High athletic teams to sporting events all across the state. He was a US Army veteran, having served in the Korean War era and was a member of the Watertown First Baptist Church.
The family will receive friends Tuesday from 10 a.m. - 8 p.m. at the Hunter Funeral Home and Wednesday from 12 Noon until the service at Watertown FBC.
Funeral services will be conducted by Rev. Steve Mathis, Rev. Steve Mayle and Rev. Tollie Cantrell. Burial will be at the Jones Hill Cemetery.
Survivors include: his wife Allie Mai Willard Lamberson and sons: Ronald Ray (Marsha) Lamberson, Earl Dewayne (Sylvia) Lamberson, Randy Kevin (Andrea) Lamberson and Gerald Willard (Sonia) Lamberson -- all of Watertown.
Also surviving are grandchildren Josh (Megan), Cheyenne, Taylor, Peyton, Seth, Autumn, Avery, Hadlee and Preslee; great grandchild Chase Maddox.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Lamberson is preceded in death by son Ronnie Wayne Lamberson. Active pallbearers include: the Deacons of First Baptist Church. Honorary: friends and neighbors.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Watertown FBC Building Fund.
