Lady Bears hold off Beech 48-45
SHACKLE ISLAND -- Mt. Juliet's Lady Bears made it a clean sweep in District 9-AAA following Tuesday night's 48-45 victory over host Beech in the tournament finals.

Stretching their winning streak to 20 consecutive games, Mt. Juliet improved to 25-1 and is scheduled to host Clarksville High Friday at 7 p.m. in the first round of the Region 5-AAA tournament.

Beech (20-11) took and early 11-4 lead, but the Lady Bears rallied to tie the score at 11-11, then took a narrow 24-21 lead into intermission.

Tyia Waller led Mt. Juliet with 14 and Ashley Roby scored 12 with each player knocking down three 3-pointers. Sally McCabe was limited to nine points by a sagging Beech defense and Ronjanae DeGray finished with six.

Beech standout Falon Baker led all scorers with 27 points, connecting on seven long-range shots.

As district runner-up, Beech will host West Creek Friday in the Region 5-AAA first round game.

(boys) Station Camp 47, Mt. Juliet 42
SHACKLE ISLAND -- Mt. Juliet's late comeback effort fell short in Tuesday night's 47-42 loss to Station Camp in the finals of the District 9-AAA tournament.

The Bison took a commanding 14-1 early lead and improved to 23-8 on the season. Station Camp is scheduled to host Springfield Saturday at 7 p.m. in the first round of the Region 5-AAA tournament.

Reagan Johnson led the Bears with 15 points, James Womack had nine while Nolan Chowbay, Daniel Schroder and John Mark Bell each scored six points.

Now 17-12 overall, Coach Troy Allen's team will host West Creek Saturday at 7 p.m. in the regional opener.

MONDAY  CONSOLATION -- (girls) Hendersonville 56, Lebanon 45
SHACKLE ISLAND -- Lebanon High Devilettes dropped a 56-45 decision to Hendersonville High in Monday night's District 9-AAA consolation game at Beech High.

Now 13-15 on the season, Coach Courtney McFarland's team will travel to Rossview Friday, Feb. 21 in the first round of the Region 5-AAA tournament.

Hendersonville opened up a 28-17 lead at intermission and pushed the margin to 45-29 after three.

LHS was just 12-of-39 from the field (30 percent) and 2-of-11 on 3-pointers (18 percent).

Morgan Bruce led Lebanon with 13 points while Madison Sloan finished with 12 points, including and 8-of-11 effort from the line.

Hendersonville post player Emily Hatfield led all scorers with 18 points and pulled in nine rebounds.

MONDAY CONSOLATION -- (boys) Wilson Central 54, Gallatin 42
SHACKLE ISLAND -- Jacob Williams recorded a double-double to help lift Wilson Central to a 54-42 victory over Gallatin in Monday's District 9-AAA consolation game at Beech High.

The win secured third place in the district and sends the Wildcats (22-6) into a 7 p.m. game Saturday, Feb. 22 at Henry County from District 10-AAA.

Williams scored 29 points and hauled in 10 rebounds against the Green Wave. He was 11-of-12 at the free throw line. Deante Miller finished with seven points for Wilson Central.
