The Donelson branch of Wilson Bank & Trust was robbed at approximately 9:40 a.m., Thursday, and the two men suspected in the hold-up were arrested a short time later.
The bank is at 217 Donelson Pike.
Metro Nashville Police said the two men suspected in the robbery were also suspects in an earlier attempted robbery around 9:15 a.m. at the US Bank branch on Murfreesboro Road. The suspects left the bank before taking any money. Police said they believe a security guard inside the bank may have scared off the two men.
After the robbery at the Wilson Bank & Trust branch, the two men left headed north on Briley Parkway, going past the Gaylord Opryland Hotel and over the Cumberland River when their vehicle broke down.
The suspects reportedly got of out the car and went over a railing and ran into a neighborhood where Brush Hill Road is located.
Police nabbed the suspects shortly thereafter. One of them was found under a bridge, and the second was discovered in an apartment where he had kicked in the door.
There have been seven banks in the Nashville area that have been robbed since Thanksgiving. Police will look at surveillance photos from those earlier robberies and question the suspects to see if they might be involved in those as well.
