Whip Crackin rodeo returns
Lebanon Mayor Philip Craighead and Lone Star Rodeo present the 4th Annual Charity Whip Crackin Rodeo & Outdoor Show to be held April 26-27 at the James E. Ward Agricultural Center.
This years presentation will be more exciting than ever with the addition of an Outdoor Show, a spokesperson said. The Rodeo begins each night at 7. The Outdoor Show hours are Friday from 2 to 9 p.m. and Saturday from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. A Special Events Rodeo for Exceptional Children kicks off the rodeo events on Friday, April 26, from 9 to noon.
The action-filled championship rodeo features the thrills and spills of Bareback Bronc Riding, Saddle Bronc Riding, Calf Roping, Cowgirls Breakaway Roping, Steer Wrestling, Team Roping, Cowgirls Barrel Racing & Brahma Bull Riding. There will be a Gold Rush for the kids where kids look for prizes in a pile of hay, a Best Dressed Cowboy & Cowgirl Contest for Kids 10 & Under and Chuckwagon Races throughout the evening. Youll experience the wagons speeding around the tight corners wheels have been broken and drivers have been thrown from the wagons, along with some rollovers.Folks, this is not your grandmas saddle club gathering.This is the real Wild West, the spokesperson added.
Youll be entertained by Team Karson of Frontier Town from Ocean City, Md., performing Liberty Stand, the most dangerous stunt in trick riding. And the crowd pleaser, Mike Wentworth the rodeo clown with his hilarious antics, will also be there. For all your outdoor needs, the Outdoor Show features campers, boats, tractors, mowers, ATVs, pools, spas, landscaping and more.
Four Seasons Coach Leasing has donated a night out on the town in one of their Coach Buses. A drawing will be held for some lucky person, and up to 13 of their closest friends, to win and experience the luxury of traveling like stars.
More than $40,000 was raised for Lebanon charities at the rodeo in 2012. Businesses are encouraged to buy a block of tickets for their employees. Presale tickets are $10 for adults and $8 for children.
