William “Super” Rankin II died peacefully at his Kentucky Lake lakeside home at Birdsong near Camden in Benton County on Sunday afternoon Feb. 20, 2011 at 2 p.m. following a battle with cancer. He was 57.
Services were conducted on Friday, Feb. 25 at the Plunk Funeral Home in Camden. Brother Danny Sellers officiated and burial followed in the Eastview Cemetery. Born October 7, 1953 in Carthage, he was the son of former Carthage Mayor and Carthage Cleaners owner William Rankin Sr. and Minnie Frances Stone Rankin. Super was a member of the Boilermakers International Local #455.
Surviving is his wife Terry Kasson Rankin of Camden; son William E. “Trey” Rankin III of Nashville; step-daughters Amber Mines and Chandra Mines both of Camden; step-son Michael Mines Sr. of Camden; sisters Janice Rankin (Dr. Newt) Lovvorn of Nashville, Rita Rankin Thrower of Pickwick Landing, Micca Rankin (Sam) Maggi of Knoxville; five grandchildren.
The family and a few friends of Super are asking that you join them in a "celebration of life" event Friday, March 4 from 7 - 11 p.m. at Lebanon's James E. Ward Ag Center / Wilson County Fairgrounds in the East Building.
