Before getting into what’s going on in Wilson County this week I would like to first start off with saying, THANK YOU! Summer is upon us and that means schools out. Whether you work outside the home or stay at home with your children, the question of what you can do to keep kids stimulated over their summer hiatus becomes a hot topic. Lucky for Wilson County there are plenty of options that will fit any budget, interest and schedule.

If you have a sport enthusiast in your home, summer is the perfect time to help them hone their game. Cumberland University offers a variety of sports camps including baseball, softball, soccer and volleyball. Two local private schools are also offering a variety of summer camps to fit just about any age group. Lebanon’s newest private school, Cedars Preparatory has a wide range of classes and camps. Whether you are looking for a 3 hour camp or an all day learning extravaganza, Cedars Preparatory may have just what you’re looking for. Friendship Christian School has several options for your preschooler through 8th grade child this summer. Daily camps are open to all children Pre-K3 through 6th grade and they begin June 7 and run through July 29 from 7:15am-5:30pm. Friendship will also host several sports camps including baseball, soccer and football for elementary through 8th grade children.
