Larraine Morris was recognized as a nominee for a Governor’s Volunteer Stars Award.
The state program recognizes and honor outstanding volunteers in participating counties.
Morris was nominated by Susan Shaw who recognized the time and effort Morris has dedicated to help start Wilson Volunteers — a group looking to match active retirees and others in the county with people and organizations who seek a helping hand.
“Larraine has never let a challenge become an obstacle, working through issues presented by the (2020) tornado, COVID, and lack of resources. She has forged a great relationship with Greater Nashville Regional Council for support of this cause. She has always been resourceful and mindful of people’s time and talents. Larraine is unique with her background in operational management, bringing a strategic long-term view to creating this organization,” Shaw wrote in her nomination letter.
