Fall shoe alert!
Nisolo, the Nashville-based handcrafted shoe and boot designer and manufacturer, is hosting its annual warehouse sale this weekend featuring discounts and exclusive access to samples, discontinued styles, colors and sizes that are not available online.
“This is the biggest in-person sale of the year,” said Hannah Shumate, who said the hundreds of men’s and women’s shoes in the sale will include some new arrivals for fall, but that the real deals will be on the samples, shoes used for video shoots, discontinued styles and other excess inventory.
“Some things are ridiculously cheap,” she said, noting that the regular retail price of most Nisolo shoes and boots is $100 to $300, but most of the inventory will be drastically discounted in the warehouse setting. Plus, she said that if you mention Ms. Cheap, you can get a 20% discount at the sale.
Shumate said that the 10-year-old company, which is known for its leather huaraches and its Chelsea boots and other handcrafted leather footwear and handbags, was unable to hold its warehouse sale last year because of COVID-19 concerns, so there should be more merchandise than ever this weekend.
Nisolo owns and operates a leather factory in Peru where the men’s and women’s shoes are made by hand and then sold in all 50 states. The company, whose main sales business is conducted online, is headquartered in Nashville and has a showroom at 1803 Ninth Ave. N. that just reopened after being closed for more than a year for COVID.
Shumate emphasized that the company prides itself on “paying everyone in its supply chain a living wage. That is the people in the factory in Peru and the people here in Nashville, too,” she said.
The warehouse sale is from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday and Sunday in the company warehouse at 208 Space Park South Drive. The sales staff will be restocking between closing Saturday and reopening Sunday.
“So I would tell people to come early either day,” Shumate said. She said there were lines of shoppers at past sales. Masks will be required.
