The Rooms to Go furniture company will open a warehouse and retail outlet store in Wilson County, the Tennessee Department of Economic and Community Development announced Thursday.
The facility is planned for Cedar Farms, an industrial building site at the Couchville Pike exit of Interstate 840. The outlet store, which is expected to be open by the end of this year, will be the company’s first in the state.
Rooms to Go announced it is investing $69 million and creating 200 jobs with the new facility. The company has five retail stores in Tennessee. The current 902,000-square foot facility will be the warehouse and the company plans to add a 40,000-square foot retail outlet.
“I am proud to welcome a company of Rooms To Go’s caliber to Wilson County. The project not only provides career employment opportunities, but also accelerates retail growth along Interstate 840,” Wilson County Mayor Randall Hutto said in a news release. “Wilson County and its citizens look forward to a long and productive partnership.”
The company pointed out that the facility will allow it convenient delivery to 39 million people within 300 miles of Nashville.
