David Everett Scott

David Everett Scott, born March 25, 1949 in Glendale, OH. David was saved at Pisgah Heights Baptist Church at age 23.

He was involved in youth ministry and ran a bus route in Mason, OH. He served as Deacon, Sunday School teacher, usher, RA Leader, and helped in the bus and youth ministry for over 28 years at First Baptist Church in Mt. Juliet. David was Vice President of Sales at McCarthy, Jones & Woodard and retired after approximately 30 years on April 3, 2015. He was a member of the Door & Hardware Institute with the designation of Architectural Hardware Consultant, the Construction Specifications Institute, and the Mt. Juliet Rotary Club. He served on the Mt. Juliet Sewer Commission, Planning Commission and finally as a City Commissioner.

 

Preceded in death by parents, Margaret Jean Scott and Amos Logan Scott; brother, Alan Keith Scott; and brother – in – law, Jim Morris. He is survived by his wife of 48 years, Linda Scott, and brother and sister-in-law Joseph and Susan Scott; son and daughter-in-law, Jarod and Ioana Scott and their children, Olivia, EJ, and Kaylan; daughter and son-in-law, Lindsay and Nick Tate and their children, Andrew and Ruby Ann.

 

Funeral services were held Sunday, March 24 at 2 pm at Sellars Funeral Home in Mt. Juliet with Bro. Billie Friel and Bro. David Fallin officiating. Interment followed the service at Mt. Juliet Memorial Gardens. Visitation with the family was Saturday, March 23 from 4 to 7 p.m. and one hour prior to the service on Sunday, March 24.
