James Forest Kidwell, 85
Funeral services have been scheduled for 2 p.m. Wednesday, June 20 at the Hunter Funeral Home for Mr. James F. Kidwell, 85, of Watertown.
A longtime educator, principal, coach and athletic official, Mr. Kidwell died Friday afternoon, June 15, 2018 at Tennova Healthcare in Lebanon.
Born May 24, 1933, he was the son of the late James Doyle Kidwell and Grace Garman Kidwell and was preceded in death by his son, Jeffrey Scott Kidwell in 2011.
Mr. Kidwell was a graduate of Watertown High School and Middle Tennessee State University, and received his Masters degree from Tennessee Tech.
He was a veteran, having served as a US Army Ranger during the Korean War and was an Elder of the Watertown First Presbyterian Church.
The family will receive friends between the hours of 2-8 p.m. Tuesday and from 10 a.m. until Wednesday's 2 p.m. service.
Services will be conducted by Tim Diffenderfer and Dr. John Cheetham.
Interment with military honors will follow at the Jones Hill Cemetery.
Survivors include: his wife Martha Dickens Kidwell; children Debbie Martin and husband, Rick of Watertown, James F. Kidwell, Jr. and wife, Nan of Lebanon, Beth Reeder and husband Wayne of Watertown; grandchildren, Lauren (Dusty) Haskins, Gina Martin, Brant Martin, Sarah (Destin) Gentry, Hanna Reeder, Madi Reeder, Kolbee James Kidwell, Adam (Sonya) Carr and Alex Carr; great grandchildren, Harper and Houston Haskins; sister, Beverly Blankenship of Murfreesboro; nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers include: Rick Martin, Wayne Reeder, Destin Gentry, Brant Martin, Dusty Haskins and Kolbee Kidwell.
Watertown's Hunter Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
