LEBANON - Cumberland University linebacker Champ Leddon has earned Mid-South Bluegrass Division Defensive Player of the Week honors for the second time in his career.

Leddon was recognized for his performance in last Saturday's 14-10 upset victory over the No. 21-ranked and previously undefeated University of the Cumberlands at Nokes-Lasater Field.

The Locust Grove, GA native posted 12 total tackles, with two of them for loss. The 12 tackles mark the third time this season he has recorded double-digit tackles in a game.

Leddon leads the team with 49 total tackles and is currently ranked ninth in the NAIA with 9.8 tackles per game.

This is Leddon’s first MSC Bluegrass Division Defensive Player of the Week honor this season, but he earned the honore during the Spring 2021 season.

Now 2-3 overall, the Phoenix travel to Campbellsville, KY to take on the Campbellsville University Saturday, Oct. 16. Kickoff is scheduled for 12:30 p.m. at Finley Stadium.
