LEBANON -- Chip Sparkman, most recently Dean of Students at LaVergne High School, has returned to Winfree Bryant Middle School where he will be the new girls basketball coach.

A History teacher, Sparkman is the former head boys basketball coach at Trousdale County High School

In his two years at TCHS, he compiled an overall record of 16-38 and 8-12 in District 8-A.

The Yellow Jackets improved to 11-19 overall and 6-4 in district in his last season (2016-2017), good for a third-place finish in the district standings.

It was the first time the Yellow Jackets reached double digits in victories since 2013.

He served as an assistant coach for the Cumberland University women’s team from 1995-2000.

Sparkman will also assist with football and will head up the Aviator golf program.
