Blackwell’s two-run single and Tyler Jones’ two-run double, a ball that hit the top of the fence in left, just missing a grand slam, were part of the five-run seventh that broke the game open.
Herrera added an RBI single to back another good performance from James Hatcher, who ran into trouble in the seventh.
Hatcher (4-0) gave up three runs on five hits with six walks and four strikeouts. The lefthander walked two in the first and seventh innings but got out of trouble in the first with a double play and did not allow more than one baserunner in any inning from the second through the sixth.
