Accomplished grappler and coach Jeff Pratt has taken the helm of the Lebanon High wrestling program in a non-faculty capacity.

Head coach at Donelson Christian Academy for eight years and presently “Gathering Pastor” at Lebanon’s Immanuel Baptist Church, Pratt takes over for David Sheely who left his teaching / coaching position to take an administrative position at LHS.

He is a former NAIA All-American at Carson Newman and was the Leadership Board Chairman for Fellowship of Christian Athletics Wrestling.

Coach Pratt represented the USA on an NAIA All-Star team in 1985, wrestling in Greece, France and Yugoslavia.

He earned a bachelor’s degree in recreation from Carson-Newman in 1986 and earned his Master of Divinity degree from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary in 1992.

Pratt began ministering at Immanuel in December of 2017 following an 11-year stint at Lifeway Christian Resources.

“I’m really excited about the opportunity to coach at a school like Lebanon,” Pratt said. “We have a great wrestling room and a group of good athletes.

“I love to influence athletes, not just in wrestling but in life and see those young men get a chance to wrestle at the college level.”

Coach Pratt went on to say assistant coaches Justin Brown and Chris Hall would be staying on with the program.
