Tennessee Gov. Bill Lee issued an Executive Order that will allow fall contact sports to resume, meaning the TSSAA football season will begin on time Week One on Aug. 21.

High school coaches and players across the Midstate breathed a sigh of relief Tuesday afternoon as Gov. Bill Lee announced he will issue Executive Order 55, allowing contact to resume and fall sports to start on time.

The TSSAA passed contingency plans for football and girls soccer Wednesday if the 2020 season doesn't start on time.

High school football and girls soccer seasons will be delayed in Tennessee, but there are options on the table for the games to still be played this fall.
