State championships held Nov. 2 --

NASHVILLE -- Two Wilson County athletes earned Top 10 finishes in Saturday's TSSAA Cross Country Championships held at Percy Warner Park.

Lebanon High's Aiden Britt placed fifth out of 197 runners in the Division I LARGE race. The junior clocked a time of 15:51.31 over the 5K course.

Henry County senior Silas Winders won the event in 15:28.98.

Friendship Christian School sophomore Hope Ilias ran a 20:36.93 to finish seventh out of 69 entrants in the Division II SMALL girls race.

Nathan Mangrum, an FCS senior, just missed out on a Top 10 finish in the Division II SMALL boys race. Mangrum placed 11th in a field of 68 at 17:46.66.

Three Mt. Juliet High boys recorded Top 50 finishes in the Division I LARGE race, including Tyler Stewart, 39th at 16:55.26; Aaron Isbell, 41st at 16:56.73 and Henry Griffin, 49th at 17:07.63.

Wilson Central's Diana Denemark placed 47th out of 194 in the Division I LARGE girls race. The junior clocked a time of 20:27.50.

Watertown High's Braden Leffew placed 33rd in the Division I SMALL race with a time 18:16.32.

WHS ninth grader Greer Davis completed the course in 19:13.23 -- good enough for 54th place.
