Montgomery catches 5 TD passes -
LEIPER'S FORK - Friendship Christian School unceremoniously knocked Grace Christian of Franklin (3-1) from the ranks of the unbeaten by the score of 37-14 Friday.
The 2-2 Commanders attacked through the air with great results as quarterbacks Garrett Weekly and J.J. Pruneau combined to complete 9-of-12 attempts for 197 yards and five touchdowns.
The primary target for the pair was sophomore receiver Brock Montgomery who hauled in five balls for 163 yards and four scores.
Riggs Rowe caught two passes for 23 yards and a touchdown. As a team, FCS piled up 364 yards in offense.
Junior Carson Carman and sophomore Tyson Walcott created havoc for the Lions as the pair combined for 27 tackles.
Carman finished with 14 stops while Walcott was in on 13 tackles with two quarterback sacks and three tackles for loss.
Linebacker Noah Tidwell finished with four tackles and picked off a Grace Christian pass.
The Commander defensive unit limited Grace Christian to just 12 yards rushing.
Friendship Christian is scheduled to host The King's Academy Friday, Sept. 17 at Pirtle Field.
Grace Christian is slated to take on another Wilson County squad as Mt. Juliet Christian Academy is up next on the schedule.
