Beating Spring Hill 21-20 in two overtimes last week gave Lincoln County its first win of the season, but it wasn’t enough to save Kevin Rose’s job.
Rose has been fired as head football coach at Lincoln County after coaching just 14 games in Fayetteville.
“Coach Rose was removed (Monday) as LCHS head football coach. Assistant football coach Eddie Cunningham will be our interim head coach for the remainder of the 2021 season. We thank Coach Rose for his work with our football program and wish him the best of luck moving forward,” Lincoln County principal Billy Owens told Main Street Preps.
Lincoln County is currently 1-4 this season and 1-1 in Region 6-5A. The Falcons host Lebanon on Friday.
Rose had a 4-10 overall record at Lincoln County after leading the Falcons to a 3-6 finish in 2020.
Before arriving at Lincoln County, Rose compiled an overall record of 133-71 in head coaching stops at Sheffield and Bob Jones in Alabama.
