Lebanon High senior Aiden Britt won “The Battle of Buckner” 5K Saturday in Dickson. He ran the course in a time of 15:42.07.

Britt wins “The battle of Buckner’ 5K

DICKSON — Lebanon High senior Aiden Britt smoked a field of 156 runners to win the “The Battle of Buckner” 5K held Saturday at Buckner City Park.

Britt ran the course in a time of 15:42.07 — some 13 seconds ahead of second place finisher Kevin Vanderkolk of Brentwood High.

As a team, the Blue Devils placed ninth out of 18 teams with four other top 100 finishers.

Judah Bender placed 52nd at 18:24.09; Hayden Jones finished 68th at 18:53.53; Todd Gonzales ran in 80th at 19:19.39 and Erik Cruz clocked a 19:38.90 for 89th place.

Mt. Juliet’s top finisher was Carter Tignor in 92nd place with a 19:45.25 .

Ryan Samulski ran in 96th place for the Bears with a time of 19:55.04 while Rylan Smith finished in 102nd place at 20:26.78.

Junior Kasey Quezada of Mt. Juliet was the top Wilson County finisher in the girls race with a time of 21:12.97 — good enough for 27th place out of 113 entrants.

The Lady Bears placed seventh out of 11 teams as Ashley Bergman ran the course in a time of 22:57.76 for 51st place; Alexa Dewey earned 55th place at 23:12.96; Carly Phillips ran 23:22.58 for 57th place and Lila Martin was close behind in 58th place with a time of 23:37.75.

Neleigh Hutto ran a 25:24.64 and finished in 76th place to lead a trio of Lebanon High ninth graders across the finish line.

LHS teammates Ellie Denton placed 82nd at 25:54.24 and Stephanie Diosdado clocked a 28:39.0 for 102nd.

Forrest High’s Rocket Invitational

CHAPEL HILL — A pair of Watertown athletes clocked top 15 finishes in Saturday’s Rocket Invitational 5K at Henry Horton State Park, hosted by Forrest High School.

Sophomore Greer Davis finished in eighth place with a time of 17:52.80 while junior Matthew McKinley ran an 18:16.10 for 15th out of 62 entrants.

WHS ninth grader Jess Riddle ran 21:03.86 (46th place) and junior Dylan Hight ran 22:23.00 (50th).

Ninth grader Nancy Caroline Thomas ran a 32:37.31 in the girls race and finished 43rd.

James Clemens High 5K

MADISON, AL – Green Hill senior Aaron Isbell completed the course in 15:44.12 to place third out of 134 runners in Saturday’s Last Chance Twilight Meet at Palmer Park.

As a team, the Hawks finished sixth out of 15 teams.

Ninth grader Spencer Hyde finished 20th with a time of 16:38.93 while junior Kaden Jenkins ran in 33rd place at 16:51.20.

Isaac Walmsley placed 40th at 17:06.86; Joseph Abbott ran 17:10.83 for 46th place.

Wilson Central’s Jacob Harzbecker placed 41st with a time of 17:07.07 – just ahead of his Wildcat teammate Elliott Hughes who ran a 17:08.49 for 42nd. place.

Central’s Atticus Simon ran 17:23.79 for 59th place and Wildcat Jude Wilt ran 17:54.11 for 79th place.

Wilson Central placed two girls in the top 25 — Diana Denemark (12th) with a time of Diana Denemark and Makenna Merkley (16th) at 19:50.54.

Green Hill freshman Maggie Nita ran in 37th place with a time of 20:43. 

Green Hill’s Lucy Ephrem finished 49th at 21:18.21 while WC’s Haven Thompson finished in 57th place at 21:44.50; Green Hill’s Lindsey Armstrong placed 58th at 21:48.02.
