Lebanon 3, Wilson Central 1

LEBANON — Lebanon High’s volleyball team moved to 16-1 on the season following Tuesday’s 3-1 home win over Wilson Central.

Game scores: 25-12, 25-19, 19-25 and 25-12.

Down two games, Wilson Central dominated the early going of Game 3, leading by 10 points (13-3, 15-5 and 16-6) on the way to a 25-19 win.

“I called a timeout and asked the girls ‘What are your fundamentals?,” said LHS coach adrienne Dotson. “We’re not going to win a game without defense, fundamentals and a good attitude.”

Outside hitter Jasmine Fuqua led the Lady Devils with 21 kills, 12 digs and five service aces — including three three straight service points in the second game.

Sacorra Patton finished with 10 kills, 11 digs and two aces while Kendall Arnold passed out 31 assists with four kills and an ace.

Addie Grace Porter registered 14 digs with four assists and an ace; Olivia Carver with had six kills and and three digs.

Faith Moorehead led Wilson Central’s front wall with 16 kills.

Taryn Wilson chipped in with 10 kills and 22 digs while Sydney Dalton had seven kills.

Anna Kate Guethlein was credited with 26 assists.

Lebanon is scheduled to play at Smyrna Thursday, Sept. 20 while Wilson Central hosts LaVergne Thursday and will celebrate Senior Night.

Mt. Juliet 3, LaVergne 0

LAVERGNE — Mt. Juliet improved to 13-13 overall following Tuesday’s 3-0 victory at District 9-AAA foe LaVergne High.

Game scores: 25-20, 25-14 and 25-10.

Hitter Cate Van Hoven finished with eight kills and seven service aces while Taylor Pruitt was credited with four blocks.

Zoe Hayes passed out 29 assists and Devon Smotherman had eight digs.

The Lady Bears will be back in action this weekend at the “Bison Bash” at Station Camp High School.

Pool play matches are set for 4 pm, 5 pm and 6 pm Friday.

Friendship 3, Clarksville Acd. 0

CLARKSVILLE — Friendship Christian’s volleyball team scored a 3-0 victory at Clarksville Academy Tuesday, Sept. 18. Game scores:25-11, 25-9 and 25-14.

Sydney McCormick rattled the nets for 14 kills while Bayley est and Logan Seagraves each had eight.

Bayley Bryant was credited with 13 digs. Cameron Burton had 23 assists with five service aces and Kaylee Scharfman had 14.

FCS will return to action Thursday, Sept. 20 at home versus University School of Nashville.

Watertown 2, Upperman 1

BAXTER — Watertown dropped the opening set but closed out strong in with a 2-1 win at Upperman High Monday, improving to 13-1 overall.

Game scores: 24-26, 25-23, 25-20.

Natalie Fountain finished with 10 kills, one block and 18 digs.

Sydney Murrell recorded 21 digs while Ashlyn Neal had five solo blocks and four assisted blocks.

The Lady Tigers will celebrate Senior Night Thursday between the junior varsity and varsity matches versus Gordonsville.

Ashlyn Neal, Dakayla Cherry, and Holly Mohr will be recognized.

Station Camp 3, Mt. Juliet 0

GALLATIN — Mt. Juliet dropped to 12-13 overall following Monday night’s 3-0 loss at District 9-AAA rival Station Camp.

Game scores: 17-25, 14-25 and 18-25.

Devon Smotherman finished with seven kills and seven digs.

Zoe Hayes recorded 20 assists and Emma Green posted five blocks.

Lindsay Merritt served a pair of aces.

The Lady Bears will be back in action Monday, Sept. 24 at Cookeville.

Nashville Christian 3, MJCA 1

NASHVILLE — Mt. Juliet Christian Academy dropped a 3-1 decision to Nashville Christian Academy Monday, Sept. 17.

Game scores: 17-25, 16-25, 26-24 and 12-25.

Davey Slaughter finished with 22 kills, 37 digs and a block.

Abbey Garland was credited with 22 digs, Taylor Wilson passed out assists and Madi Stone had 17 digs and five kills.

MJCA dropped to 8-10 overall and 4-8 in the Division II-A Middle Region.

The Lady Saints will be back in action Saturday, Sept. 22 in the Watertown Tournament.

Cookeville 3, Wilson Central 0

COOKEVILLE — Cookeville’s Lady Cavs swept three straight sets from Wilson Central High Monday, Sept. 17.

Game scores: 23-25, 17-25 and 16-25.

Taryn Wilson paced WCHS with five kills, 11 digs and three aces,

Anna Kate Guethlein recorded 12 assists and Caroline Brasfield had 12 digs.
